Pension Fund Trustees and Administrators Earn Continuing Education Credit Through TEXPERS' Online Learning

Public employee pension fund trustees and administrators from across Texas took part in a live online learning session discussing the housing market environment for real estate investing. 

TEXPERS hosted Real Estate Investing: Is Your Portfolio Positioned for Tomorrow's World?, presented by Nuveen Real Estate. Nuveen subject matter experts Melissa Reagen, Head of Research, Americas, and Jay Martha, Managing Director, Global Head of Housing, gave the roughly 45-minute presentation that also allowed the audience to ask questions.

Reagen and Martha described the benefits of applying a sector-specialized model to the construction and management of real estate portfolios. The presenters also shared data showing the sector-specialized approach as beneficial for pension investors navigating a rapidly shifting landscape of technology, demographics, consumer behavior, work patterns, and living arrangements.

Attendees Earn Credit

Pension fund trustees and administrators who attended the live webinar earned one hour of Investment training credit.

New trustees and administrators must earn a minimum of seven hours of training within the first year of their service to satisfy the Pension Review Board of Texas' training requirements. Continuing trustees and administrators must receive a minimum of four hours of training every two years after their first year of service.

TEXPERS' online learning opportunities are for new and continuing trustees and administrators; however, any of the association's members may register. The webinars are also open to trustees and administrators of public employee pension systems in Texas that are not embers of the association but need to satisfy training obligations.
